What "Not Cooling" Usually Means
When a refrigerator stops holding temperature, the cause almost always sits in one of four places: airflow, defrost, the condenser, or the sealed system. A failed evaporator fan makes cold but cannot move it into the cabinet. A stalled defrost cycle lets frost blanket the coil until air can no longer pass. A fouled condenser makes the compressor run hot and inefficient. And a slow refrigerant leak in the sealed system gradually starves the whole unit of cooling. The pattern of which section is warm, and whether the compressor is running, tells us where to look first.
