Typical Causes
A failed zone thermistor is the most common culprit; the control simply reads the wrong number and manages the zone incorrectly. A stuck or failed damper prevents cold air from reaching one zone. Evaporator or circulation fans wear out and either stop or grow noisy. Door gaskets harden and let humid room air in, which shows up as condensation. And, as with any refrigeration, a slow sealed-system leak will gradually warm the whole cabinet. In our high-altitude, dry Colorado climate we also see cabinets sited in warm butler's pantries that simply cannot keep up until ventilation is corrected.
