What F2 Indicates
The control watches the cavity temperature through the sensor. If it reads hotter than allowed, or a relay has welded closed and keeps the element powered, it posts F2 and shuts down to prevent an unsafe temperature. The code is a safety response, not a random fault.
Sensor or Relay
A drifted sensor can make the control think the cavity is hotter or cooler than it is, while a welded relay physically keeps the element on regardless of the setting. We measure the sensor resistance and test the relay output to determine which one caused F2.
The Repair
If the sensor is off spec we replace it; if a relay has welded we replace the control board. After the repair we run a bake and confirm the cavity holds the set temperature and F2 does not return.
