Find the Condenser
On most Sub-Zero and other built-ins the condenser sits behind the upper grille; on freestanding units it is often a coil at the back or underneath. Remove the grille clip or panel by hand. If you are unsure, check the model's location before you start.
Vacuum, Brush, and Clear the Fan
Use a vacuum with a brush attachment and a soft coil brush to lift dust from the fins, working in the direction of the fins so you do not bend them. Then clear dust from around the condenser fan blade so it can spin freely. Bent fins or a dust-packed fan are exactly what makes a unit run warm.
Restore Power and Verify
Reinstall the grille, restore power, and let the unit run. Within a few hours the compartment should be back at temperature and the compressor should cycle rather than run nonstop. If it still runs warm after a good cleaning, the issue is elsewhere and worth a diagnosis.
