The Evaporator Fan
The evaporator fan pushes cold air off the coil into the compartment. When it slows or stops, that section warms even though the compressor is running and the coil is cold. You may hear a change in the airflow sound or a rattle. This is one of the most common Sub-Zero cooling calls.
The Condenser Fan
The condenser fan pulls air across the condenser to reject heat. When it fails, the compressor runs hot and cooling drops across the unit, sometimes with the compressor cycling on its overload. A dusty condenser makes this worse, so we clean and test together.
